  1. Politicians always reach for the tax stick, rather than a more innovative carrot as a solution. It's easy to tax and make it look as if they are doing something. Curiously, such taxes are never aimed at the real polluters, the ones making huge profits from killing the planet. Money and influence always protect those with money and influence, such is the legalised bribery that infects the world's political systems.
