@miguelmelchior986 it is very likely that this government will again survive this scandle, so your mirth at the departure of the PM may be somewhat premature.
Given the crimes of other world leaders at the moment, attending his own birthday party, for 10 minutes in the cabinet office, with colleagues with whom he works closely, does not sound that serious.
The media is working hard to convince the UK population into believe that these parties were orgies, at which those attending were actively calibrating the deaths of covid victims, and the misery that created for their loved ones. This is clearly a politically motivated fiction. It is a common for a political cartoonist to show politicians snearing at the public, as this is guaranteed to trigger an justifiable angry response. There is no evidence of this actually happening, except on the fevered mind the opposition.
During the worst of the pandemic, It is distressing that family members were not able to visit covid victims in their final hours in hospital, but the risk of spreading the infection is obvious. The same applies to bringing together families from far and wide for a funeral of a family member.
But the resentment that these restrictions produced is now being channelled for a political purpose. Their are other things that this government may have done which are more deserving of rebuke.

@R0swell5104 you are completely ignoring the practicalities of the offence. These peop,e work together, often in the same room.
In any case the punishment for the crime is also defined by the law, and it has been met. It does not include the loss of employment.
There have been far more serious crimes committed by MPs of both sides of the house, and they have remained in their posts.
You should also look at the dubious record of some in the house of lords.
This is an exercise by the opposition and the media to remove someone from office, that they have not been able to achieve through the ballot box.
What you find so irritating is the hypocrisy, but this has been inflated by the media. If you want a reason to remove the PM, you should be looking for financial impropriety, the awarding of honours for cash, or the favoured contracts granted to conservative donors, during the night of the pandemic, or the loss of tax payer money through fraud.
These are resigning issues, not standing in a room for tem minutes being regaled by the singing of happy birthday.
Maybe this is far easier an issue for the opposition to use, as they maybe implicated in the other more serious offences.
Better to not start a precedence for forcing out a government for fraud and corruption, as the opposition might like to be involved in such activity when they are in power. Far better to oust the PM for attending an impromptu birthday party.
