Comments by "Nigel Johnson" (@nigeljohnson9820) on "Britain will enter 'political and constitutional turmoil' if Commons rejects Brexit deal" video.
Yet again EU intransigence has snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Had the EU give David Cameron a few more concessions the UK might have decided to leave. The irony is many EU member states are now being forced to consider more drastic changes that Cameron was requesting. If the EU fails to reform it will be destroyed.

@christopherblackburn6811 A referendum at some point was inevitable. The EU is doing its best to move towards federalist ion without triggering any treaty changes, precisely because it will trigger referendum votes in a number of member states. The UK would be included. We should have had a referendum when the Maastricht treaty was signed, but the UK electorate were hoodwinked into believing this was nothing more than technical changes, something that could not be further from truth.

@Parzival224 not sure about that, it depends in which direction the nuclear fallout is blown by the wind.

@christopherblackburn6811 there was no plan as he did not expect to lose the vote. The arrogance of the establishment is only dwarfed by the ignorance of public opinion.

@christopherblackburn6811 you really did not read far enough. The EU is now being forced to implement migration control and control over free movement in order to meet the demands of other member states, including Germany. David Cameron's demands did not go sufficiently far. He really did not understand the views of those who wished to leave the EU. The media and political classes have limited brexiteers concerns to those of migration, this was never the case, there were always a wide range of issues. With regard to migration, It was never about race or xenophobia, it was about numbers and the UK's limited resources.

@christopherblackburn6811 they could not have past the blame to the EU if we were not a member. We have had forty plus years to improve the fortunes of the UK while in the EU, this has not happened. Brexit is a way to force the changes necessary. The EU experiment has been a failure for the UK, which is why we are leaving.

@christopherblackburn6811 because the EU provide the means for the UK government to facilitate its policies.
