  1. In the 21st century, religion should not involve barbaric practices. Religious sensitivity cannot be used as a defence to protect such practices. Certainly there should be no place for ritual slaughter or barbaric mutilation. Circumcision is the male equivalent of FGM, the fact it is less damaging is because the male is involved.
