Level playing field is EU speak for the UK being a vassal state of the EU. The UK should use higher and unique UK standards to discourage EU imports.

@herrfleischgewehr no the EU sets common standards to facilitate trade between member states. If you knew anything about the EU you would know that. The UK is exercising its right to leave, nothing is burning apart from your anger at the UK having the temerity to reject the EU and maybe the loss of UK cash.

@herrfleischgewehr if you think we have been bad in the last few years, wait and see what we do if forced to remain. Our government will be scrutinised to ensure it is eurosceptic and does not give the EU an inch. Forget further integration, forget an EU military, we will veto the lot. We want to be free of the EU, with all the control strings cut.

@herrfleischgewehr I have no interest in Trump's US, any more than I do the Macron's EU. You are right, I will be very happy when the UK leaves the EU provided leave means independence from EU control.

@herrfleischgewehr we were never in any position of authority within the EU. Outside we will only be a rule taker as far as it suits us. The decision will be ours. At least we will not be part of the EU economic train crash that is inevitably coming. If in any doubt take a look at EU interest rates and the ECB addiction to QE. Take a close look at the EU migrant crisis. Consider how the EU is going to be adverse affected by global warming. Consider the protests in France and how macron is dealing with them. Take a look at the slowdown in the German economy. How long will Germany be willing to fund the EU, particularly without access to the UK cash cow. You may think the withdrawal agreement is a done deal, but it may yet unravel to a no deal. Between the Chinese, the Russians and the US, they are going to eat the EU for breakfast.

@herrfleischgewehr now you are just repeating yourself.

I think you will find that the billionaire are on the side of remain, that is why it has been so hard to leave. We had a boat load of billionaires floating down the Thames, outside Parliament, campaigning for a remain vote just before the referendum. No one took much notice of them then and now.
