The security motion was always going to be of nothing more than symbolic value, the Russian vote to block the motion of condemnation for the invasion, just highlighted how isolated Russia has become. Even China could not stomach voting in favour of Russia. Putin is now a war criminal as morally bankrupt as Syria's Assad. Now the West must make him truly bankrupt. He will have outlive his usefulness to the Russian elite, as their concern is to maintain their wealth. There is no profit to be made from killing Ukrainian civilians. Putin has given the proud Russian army the reputation of the NAZI SS, I wonder how the Russian general will live with that.
