  1. It is too late to control access to guns, but control of ammunition and the materials to make it would turn many guns into nothing more than rather badly designed clubs. But I take the point that a pipe bomb would have been just as lethal, particularly if it had been timed to explode soon after the fire alarms were triggered. Other countries have very strict regulations controlling the access to materials that can be used to make explosives. This unfortunately limit the activities of those who have a harmless interest in chemistry.

  2. Z Man given the degree of opposition, it would appear that controlling the supply of ammunition would have been very successful in controling the use of guns. Opposing gun control seem to be a form of masochism, a wish for self harm. I assume that gun owners never expect to be the victims of gun crime.
