Now all we need is Greece to leave the EU and fund its debts by renting its ports to the Russian fleet. I hope the reactor is a better design to that at Chernobyl.

The truth it was only a few months ago that Terkey was shooting down Russia jets, ostensibly because they crossed into turkey's air space, but in practice because they were attacking Turkish supply convoys that supported Isis. ( At least that is what was reported in the news at the time.)

José Dourado you have clearly not read that many of my posts and you appear to have a poor grasp of the concepts of irony and sarcasm. If your comment refers to the war in Syria, neither side deserves support, in this case the enemy of my enemy is also my enemy. Western involvement is just turning this into a proxy War between Russia and the west. During the peak of the Greek debt crisis there were news reports that Greece was going to leave the EU or be forced out and would fund its debts by renting its port to the Russian fleet. The Russians appeared to be keen to have a Mediterranean Port, so the story sounded very plausible, particularly as it would have resulted in panic in the EU. Since then, the EU has warmed to Russia, even allowing for the UK spy poisoning. The EU's motives is money and energy. This relationship is very dangerous because of the EU'S intention to have its own federal military forces. Should this happen, I suspect that it is only a matter of time before the EU and Russia are involved in conflict. One of the unspoken advantages of NATO was the willingness of the US to confront Russia (USSR) or european soil ( in preference to US soil). This was a real deterrent. A EU army will lack this motivation. It can be argued that an EU army is no defence against Russian aggression, because Russia has control of the European energy tap.

José Dourado not hat nonsense that the EU is responsible for peace in Europe. That is rubbish, NATO kept the peace, partly because the US was happy to defend Europe from the USSR, because a limited nuclear exchange on European soil was preferable to all out nuclear war. The EU intention to form a federal army should ensure a conflict with Russia, that assuming it's federal policies do not result in a civil war.
