  1. Was it wise for Euronews to report this story. On any given day there may be criminal damage to a number of building both secular and religious. In the past there has been damage to churches. They have been systematic arson attacks to churches in the east of England, later attributed to a deranged individual. The probable reason that this is being reported in Europe now is because of the attack in NZ, and it is that very reason why the spread of the report should have been limited. I suspect there could be a more subtle political motive for reporting this story, part of an agenda to re-enforce the view that the UK leaving the EU is due to racial intolerance. It will be so much easier to explain a no deal brexit if it can be blamed on ignorant racism rather than the far more complex reality of issues that reflects badly on the EU.
