  1. The EU would be mad to take on this powder keg, but they will because the EU has an obsession with continuous expansion. Like a pyramid selling scam, it must expand to survive. The problem is the EU is running out of quality victims. It's list of potential victims are likely to be recipients from the EU budget and/or bring significant problem baggage with them. The gets worse the further east the EU recruits. The EU had a close call with Turkey and may yet have a problem with Ukraine, risking a confrontation with the Russians. The eurocrats would be wise to understand that if you are trapped in a hole, it's a good idea to stop digging.
