  1. If these lockdown fail to curb the infection rate then other methods for transmission must be considered. Surface contamination by the virus has been shown to survive for 15 days, following the examination of the infected cruise ship. One must hope that direct human to human transmission is the predominant mechanism, as total surface decontamination will be difficult.
