Comments by "Nigel Johnson" (@nigeljohnson9820) on "Brazilian government defends record on Amazon deforestation" video.
It is trying to defend the indefensible. The deforestation of the Amazon is driven by corruption. The Amazonian government should not expect international help when it is hit by the effects of global warming. Let it take money from the companies that are currently exploiting the Amazon for profit.

@BAKASHINJl I know you are destroying Brazilian biodiversity to grow palm oil. The world can see what you are doing on satellite images. The fires are very obvious.

@timepickle8443 when you have allowed the multinationals to destroy your country to fill the pockets of a corrupt few, do not expect any international bailouts to keep your economy afloat. You have made your bed off ash, I hope you enjoy lying in it. As climate change takes a grip and the rate of extinctions increase, you will face western boycotts of your products. But it really matter as your will not be producing much, as the fertility of the farm land falls and there are no more rain forest to destroy. But then you are too stupid and fail mouthed to see the horrific future that awaits you.

What would you prefer me to say, the Brazilian government is corrupt.

@BAKASHINJl You hope, where the campaign to save the planet and its animals are concerned, you may find consumer power a very powerful weapon. Not much good producing stuff if you cant sell it.

@calembur simply using the words of the report.

@anderson_jr.4670 all the reading I have done so far indicates that the Amazon rain forest is being cut down at a record rate, killing the local wild life, all to make a few big companies very rich. The rain forest soil is very poor quality, so when it is gone it's gone forever. I am not impressed that one corrupt administration has been replaced by another, the destruction appears to be the same.

But it's the world's choice to buy or not to buy your exports.
