  1. A no deal threat is not a threat if no deal is the default position. Once the UK leaves without a deal, the EU loses all control over the UK, and can expect the UK to interpret the withdrawal agreement in a way that is most favourable to the UK. If pushed the UK will increasingly ignore it, after all it was drafted almost entirely in the EU's favour. Much of it was blackmail based on the promise of a later trade deal.if that trade deal fails to materialise, the blackmail conversion loses its power.

  2.  david stewart  I assume you are referring to the EU, which I suppose can be considered as being the cohorts from hell. The EU is trying to retain control over the UK via Northern Ireland, failing that it is trying to dissect the UK. The latter is a very dangerous strategy, as the UK may just allow the EU to consume the most poisonous and unpalatable part of itself, in the form of Northern Ireland.
