Apply sanctions and watch the UK ignore the withdrawal agreement and bring back the internal market bill.

@ezeee595 seems to me I understood it perfectly. If the EU applies sanctions to the UK, the UK will respond by ignoring the brexit agreements.

@ab-ym3bf it will blow a big hole in the EU market integrity.

@ab-ym3bf there would be a big hole in the NI border. Given the problems that NI is having, getting imports from the UK, I suspect they would support such a move. It only requires the reinstatement of the internal market bill.
1
@ezeee595 that works both ways. I think UK consumers are already avoiding EU imports.

@ezeee595 How are you not sure what you meant??

@ab-ym3bf no the eu would be the one to force the border in NI to close. The eu went into panic made when it thought the uk was likely to pass the internal markets bill. If the uk was forced to do so, the eu would only have itself to blame.
1
@ab-ym3bf wrong, the eu was in panic mode at the prospect of the internal markets bill. It would be an eu decision to respond by putting up a border, as the uk has said it would not do so. The eu can not be described as a trustworthy partner, it is a hostile foreign power intent on punishing the uk for having the temerity to leave the eu, this is evident by the unequal way it treats the uk compared with other independent countries.
1
@ab-ym3bf i am glad you have recognised your folly. The uk is free to apply any conditions it likes to make its internal markets work. The eu will just have to live with the consequences, denying this will not make it true.

@paulwainwright967 it is you that have failed to recognise that the UK has left the EU and the EU no longer has any control over the UK. As for needing you, the EU provided nothing for the UK in the past forty years, so I won't be holding my breath waiting for EU help now. We fully understand the EU is a hostile foreign power, and has no good intentions toward the UK. So with friends like the EU who, needs enemies.
