The EU should understand that nothing is agreed until everything is agreed, that includes the phase one agreement and the cash payment to the EU. The UK made a fundamental, but understandable, error in electing to work from the status quo towards Brexit separation. This put the EU in control. We should have started from WTO rules and a hard Brexit, cutting off all connections with the EU and paying them nothing. We should then negotiated back from this position towards our membership position. This would have put the UK in a controlling position,as the EU would have faced the stark reality of a hard Brexit from day one. They are only now discovering that they have much to lose, after we have already made too many concessions.

astral xing article 50 gives the right to leave just like that. We do not require EU permission to leave. The EU will quickly learn that any pain they cause works both ways. They have 80 billion in trade at risk not to mention trillions in investments. What you fail to understand is that the UK has the legal and moral right to leave the EU. Joining is not a one way process.

astral xing let's be clear, EU membership has never been of benefit to the UK and it never will. It is ironic, that the money the EU wants from the UK is not real money, it is borrowed, it is nothing more than debt. A situation that will only get worse the longer we remain in this protection racket. Any difficulty in leaving can be traced to the tentacles this parasitic organisation has managed to entwined into the UK political and financial system. We should have voted out forty years ago.
