  1. Matsamplokos you are very likely correct, given the amount of damage and pain these fires produce, anyone found guilty of starting them should face the severus penalties. In the case of Greece, they should face mass murder charges.

  2. Hartline Realm that's a stretch even for a conspiracy theory, occam's razor suggests a simpler more prosaic explaination of stupid people playing with matches in a tinder dry environment. Given the wide spread nature of this heat wave, which appears to be global, I am more concerned that the planet earth has crossed a tipping point in climate change and the planet will continue to heat at an ever increasing rate. The problem is that the politicians have no concept of nonlinear dynamics and the nature of feedback systems. While one hot summer does not an Armageddon make, at some point it will and it could be now. So start praying for this heat wave to show signs of ending and prove we have not yet crossed that line.
