@notroll1279 questionable if Scotland will qualify to join the EU. And when push comes to shove, those who want Irish reunification will discover just how little enthusiasm the EU and the RoI really have for reunification, and taking on the significant political and financial liability that is Northern Ireland. Reunification is fine in principle, but in practice it is a project better left until tomorrow, or the day after, or maybe next week, or sometime in the future. I am all for it as it would represent a financial windfall for the rest of the UK, and remove all the political problems associated with it, including the EU blackmail tool. Unfortunately, why would those in NI vote for it? They have the best of both worlds at the moment, and they are the only ones who can choose reunification. Interestingly, the DUP has rejected the withdrawal agreement and wants it changed. The EU will want it changed when they realise how much the border will leak and how impractical it is. The EU will also be less interested, now that their plot to use it to control the UK has been stopped.
If Ireland does reunify, it may then want to leave the EU to regain its sovereignty, after all it is subservient to the EU at the moment.
