That is not to say the EU is not looking for new members, it is a Ponzi scheme that must constantly recruit to justify its existence and gain income. Unfortunately for the EU, the further east it expands, the poorer the quality of the potential members. It wants states that will contribute to its budget,not take money out. You should be more worried about Russia, Putin has an expansion plan to regain control over all former USSR satellite countries. Do not think Russia will make Belarus rich, it will drain it dry. The current loan is an investment to keep control of the country, by keeping Lukashenko in power.
