  1. Having read the book long before seeing the film, it always seemed silly that "Juan Rico" didn't even look slightly like his name suggests in ethnicity. Everyone thinks there is a whole bunch of war mongering, but this is a story where Earth was attacked by an alien race, and in the early days they were losing the war.
