I have heard from others about this history. Dinesh D'Souza has pointed out the connection between American laws and the Nuremberg laws, in that they looked to the segregation laws of the South for inspiration. I do not remember his sources, perhaps one would be the book by Whitman that you quote here. I have heard elsewhere the point made that all of these ideas came from the universities and intelligentsia, it was not something that came from a bunch of backward lower class ignoramuses. An excellent video. It would be interesting to hear more if you want to tackle it.
