I have quite a few old history books, which I consider to be historical artifacts in themselves. One book for instance, "The World War for Democracy," will reflect the attitudes and information that the author at the time (1919) had at the time. For interpretation of reporting in today's media, political considerations are the most reliable predictor of bias. For example, in the recent shooting at an event in Kansas City following the Superbowl game, the identity of the shooter was not given for some time. By this delay, we knew that the shooter was not white.
