  2. China is the worlds largest chip and semiconductor market worth 560 billion dollars a year. That is 75% of all chips sold. China controls 70% of processed rear earth minerals and 90% of rear earth mineral processing technology. 80% of modern goods only require 14nm and higer chips. These are legacy chip the buik of western chip manufacturers revenue. The chinese government has invested billions into legacy chip development and production. China is going to catch up and when they do. western chip companies are going to be losing revenue but will have to compete against chinese affordable chips. The u.s is playing a losing game.
