Every government gives subsidies to their key industries. Airbus, Boeing, US and EU governments give subsidies to EV and green tech industries as well, maybe not as much as China. But there is nothing wrong with subsidies in general. Compete by giving your local companies more subsidies, not protectionist tarrifs.

@davidashton6567 not clean in absolute sense but still cleaner then tail pipe emissions. Power plants can have bigger filters and further away from population centers

If you really want to feel power pumping in your veins go lift some weights, or go for a run, play a sports. All are healthier than spewing toxic pollution for others breath in .

Coal electricity is not ideal but far cleaner then tail pipe emissions still because they can put much bigger filtering system at power plant than in your cars and farther away from population centers

@gg.youlubeatube6249 Petrol cars are noisy and vibrating engine. what's so good about that? Sure dependin on the use case , you still need petrol cars for long distance travel. But for in town errands, EV beats petrol every single time.

Let me give you an idea.. Buy a phev. If most of your trips are in town commutes you can save all the petrol fuel money by plugging in at night when you sleep. And only need to buy petrol when you go out of town a couple times a year. Perfect of both worlds and you don't need to worry about car inoperable when the battery degradation after many years as you still have a patrol engine which should last much longer because of its low usage. It beats having two cars taking up your garage space.

@mf8666 I'm aware. But I'm also aware, these solar and wind are installed in remote areas far away from large population centres. Running transmission lines that long loses a lot of efficiency. I'm not sure what they are used for - maybe industrial or crypto mining. Certainly not for folks in Beijing or Shanghai to charge their EVs.

@fortunateson101 You are right. China does not have freedom of speech, it is working on to become more free and liberal over time without causing social problems. But the US and its allies are hypocrites that claim they have freedom but in reality, it's all government controlled anyway.
