@fredinit no it's not.. shelter is.. shelter could be homeless shelter, with no privacy and quiet whatsoever

I think China will get through this real estate rout and emerge as lean and mean as ever.

@jasejj those "technical expertise" don't seem to translate to productivity. Japanese workers productivity is the lowest amongst industrial countries. They work hard and long hours but don't seem to create as much value as the US, European workers who work less and take more vacations.

@TheMegazzZZZZZZZZZZZ the difference between China today and Japan in the 90s is that China is still hungry for innovation and average Chinese are striving for improvement while Japan by that time has already the highest living standard and average Japanese settled in comfortable career paths of salarymen without trying hard to innovate like they once did in the 60s to 80s

TSMC will be irrelevant in 10 years as PRC surpasses semiconductor tech.

Japan can keep reliving in their former glory.

@CRneu if Japan is so good, then why are they lagging behind just about every leading edge technology?

@KlodFather Nah.. Japan is a nation in decline. Most of them are so comfortable working in a dead end salaray man jobs. They don't like big changes or innovate, it hurts their brains. They are good at dedicating themselves to life long careers to ever perfecting their exissting old tech, or crafts. Yeah they do make some nice high quality stuff, but that adds little value compared to the breakthrough technological revolutions elsewhere in the world. Westerners like Japan for their art, culture, anime, and high quality food. But overall the Japan is in decline or stagnant at best.

Altman is a fool. He dumped all his fortune in some nuclear fusion startup. I bet it'll go to zero

@jimmywhite-br1pl you are naive. China should not waste money on military. focus on peaceful rise. Everyone will respect you if you don't intend to use blunt force.

@Matixmer good things it has burst. China is on its way to healthy economy while the US is still growing its own bubble

90% of lawyers and 50% of doctors can already be replaced by AI. It's the rigid social structure not allowing this to happen.
