  1. That's because they cheap out and source low quality battery cells. There are fire proof cells from leading brands in China, but some of them are blocked by Western sanctions.

  2. All these EV fires are using cheap Chinese brands or LG chem battery cells. The newer current gen. CATL and BYD batteries as well as Geely's are virtually fireproof. Yet, the "luxury" German brands like Audi and Mercedes continue to cheap out sourcing the cheapest batteries for their EVs.
