I live in soutern Ontario, and governemnt has been pushing home owners to ditch their gas furnace and replace them with heat pumps. Disregarding the power grid issues, the noise and vibration from these pumps will deafen the whole neighbourhood streets if they were installed in every household. The colder it gets, the less efficient they become and the harder they will have to work, and shortened lifespan and higher service cost.

@mikeslater6246 I know. Geothermal is very expensive to set up . Not everything is about efficiency. You must think about installation and maintenance cost also.

I think hybrids are more practical than pure BEVs especially in colder climates such as in Canada. I've had EVs before and they were just too cold to be in for a long time in winter. The waste heat from innefficient gas engine is a welcome "waste" that can be redirected to heat passenger cabin and melt snow on hood of the car

It's not just the CO2 coming out of tailpipe. CO2 is odourless, but put your nose on the tailpipe and try to breath it in you will understand what I'm saying. Good luck not to get cancer in a few years.
