  3.  @bin.s.s.  Japan stole a lot of IP at its early stages of development.. you can't expect a developing economy to reinvent the wheel from the scratch.. Some technology transfer has to happen to get things started. Now China is developing much of its EV and semiconductor techs on its own and almost rivaling the West they are afraid and accusing China of cheating.

If China wanted, it can definitely deal a devastating blow to American businesses, but it is still trying to be cordial towards the US, while the US is being absolutely brutally aggressive towards China. At the same time, the US is accusing China of being the aggressor. I see the total opposite is true.
