  1. beauty is in the eye of beholder. If you love Tesla, nothing can be said to change your mind. But if you live in the cold weather, you'd hate flush door handles frozen shut after every rain and wet snow. Imagine you have emergency you can't even get the door handle to pop out. For what? Just for that 5% range efficiency if that much at all? I value my convinience and robustness in emergency more than 5% more range.

  2.  @GamePar  you wouldn't have the time or foresight of preheating to melt the ice in case of emergency. With the normal door handles at least you can just yank it open if you don't care about slight tears on weather striping. Of course in emergency you don't care about that.
