Tesla started the stuck on screen and flush door handles, two of the worst design features copied by 80% all other car companies, whereas they should be focusing on electrification, not copying the worst gimmicks just to appear cool.

@User-q6x3b not likely. Even if grid does fail, I'd much rather have an EV that can provide backup power to the house. You won't be able to pump gas without electricity anyways and refineries also run on electricity. With EVs you make your own electricity to from solar if grid really becomes unreliable or too expensive. With fossil fuel, you are completely at the mercy of government and big oils

Japan is really falling behind Koreans and Chinese. This car is at least 5-7 years behind the current EV capabilities.

All this discussion is pretty much laughable and inrrelevant from China perspective where EVs cost lower and more reliable have next gen. battery technologies that are safer and more engergy dense. Also cost under $20k USD, with wide spread charging infrastructure. Here in the North America, it really looks archaic compared to China, that you guys are still debating whether or not to adopt EVs.

Doesn't matter how reliable or long lasting Toyota engines are.. Soon the world governments will tax the heck out of fossil fuels in order to force transition into EVs. it'll be too expensive to operate any gas vehicles. Your reliable Toyota will be worthless piece of trash

No thanks to jerky car that still drinks dinosaur juice. Huffs and puffs volatile compounds into the air you breath. Still an admirer?

@krane15 that's right. But it's not because of their gimmicks , but because of lack of alternatives. There are other EV brands but none of them could ramp up production to meet the demands. Thus far

This is garbage compared to Chinese EVs though. That's why European auto makers are getting killed in Europe by Chinese EVs right now. See Li Auto L9 more luxury, bigger car, 1500 km combined range, less money than BMW X7. Too bad we can't get them in America because protectionist politics.

Crash test result really poor for this vehicle. Otherwise it's a good value. It's sad German cars are worse in safety than Chinese cars now
