  1. Not really. There are still plenty of Westerners still believe Japanese quality who will pay up for their Toyota Rav4 and Honda Accord etc.

  2. Discrimination. Japanese people are very united against foreign imports. You don't see any American cars, and very low number of European imports. most Mercedes are driven by Yakuzas.

  5. I don't think it's by choice. Toyota and other Japanese auto makers are descerately wanting to catch up to EVs but they simply unable to. Look at Mazda MX30 EV embarassment, and Toyota bz4x, lacking in quality and innovation. Japanese companies simply lack the ability to innovate, due to its backward culture and structure.
