  2. The problem is lack of diversity in EV designs to appeal to wider range of buyers. The prevailing design of new EVs centers around computer on wheels by taking away as much physical controls as possible and relying on the stuck on tablet in the middle of dash. Couple that with having to use app for everything from setting precondition, charging levels, software updates, multiple charging accounts, route planning etc. all these are too complicated for folks who just want to jump in their car to go from A to B. Ah charging stations should by law remove the requirements of using a app to activate it. More manufacturers should develop dumb EVs with traditional physical controls to make it easier to operate without having to take eyes off road constantly. Being able to remote start or precondition the EV with key fob without having to use an app. Remove subscriptions on basic features especially safety related.
