@turningpoint4238 HUD is not old fashioned and very cool and useful. Only reason Tesla doesn't have it is to save cost.

@elainebradley8213 humans are very flexible creatures they can get used to anything good or bad. Taking your eyes off the road to look at center screen is definitely inferior to HUD on windshield. You will say anything to defend Tesla even if it makes no logical sense.

By the time model 2 is out, there will be other affordable EVs possibly from Chinese brand or western brands using Chinese battery and software.

@danharold3087 Tesla is already half Chinese. 40% of profit comes from China and model 3 highland is designed in China. More and more development not just production will depend on China and Chinese human resources. Batteries are only just the first step. Eventually the whole supply chain

@danharold3087 when I say human resources I don't just mean manual labor, I mean brains. If you listened to the latest interview with lex Friedman, Elon showed much admiration for Chinese people creativeness and energy. I think much of future Tesla designs will be done in China. Model 3 highland already was. Model 2 will probably also. As much as US politicians try to shut China down, the future of EVs depend on China. Mexico will not be a major force other than providing cheap manual labor but they will soon be replaced with automation like you mentioned
