  3. I don't see it happening in the US and Canada. The grid and charging infrastructure is horrible and there is no political will to change that.

  5.  @document6  I fail to see how NACS standard change grid capacity. Throughput during the peak usage such as holiday travels (thanks givings and Christmas) and large gathering events sports and concerts will be horrible. Sure you can expand the charging infrastructure to accomodate the peak usage, but that will be expensive and innefficient. Aiming for max efficiency will cause long queues and delays during peak usage.

  6.  @jcfallows  Get real man, Horses to automobiles are much bigger leap than ICE to EVs. The main advantage of EVs over ICE is zero emissions, and requires massive government incentives and push. If the cost of charging is high and less convinient than filling up fossil fuel, it's going to be challenge in the long run. Also with trade tension with China, all the cheap solar panels and batteries might be banned in the near future. Locally manufactured green tech will be so much more expensive limit the grid capacity expansion.
