  2. " For people who need to travel long distances" I can't think of anyone needing to travel over 400 km without any break on regular basis. Sure on some rare EMERGENCY situations you have to drive across country to see your dying relative maybe. In such case, I'd get a PHEV to handle just those unplanned situations, and leaving 95%+ time plugged in and driven in EV mode.
