There is also a big geopolitical risk with China. If China - West relationship deterrioates even further, it will affect all Chinese businesses. He is not wrong in selling BYD. It's a part of risk management of any good investor.

He is not wrong. BYD and other EV stocks have reached a peak FOMO. There is probably more downside than upside from here. Record sales doesn't mean stock price will go up. Stock price is probably already priced in the current growth rate, as well as near future also. Thus not much more upside in stock price even if sales and profit keeps going up. It will have to beat investor's expectation for any gains.

@jasonk203 It could be both good and bad. Good if their R&D pays off in long run. Bad if it doesn't and eats into their profit margin.

@roberthoward9500 that's my belief also . Even if China doesn't invade Taiwan. The US will still try to contain China the more China excels in technology areas such as EV and semiconductor. The US doesn't want to be surpassed technologically and will do all its power to stop China.

@tz7710 the sad part of the West will end up with inferior LG and Panasonic batteries compared to much higher quality Chinese batteries.
