  1. Heat pump doesn't really work in extreme cold under-5c. Also we don't know the longevity of these things with compressor working so hard. Slight imbalance can cause vibration and noise affecting it's life span and passenger comfort.

  2. There is a limit on how much heat battery can generate in cold weather due to its very low energy density. A 1lb propane bottle contains 65kwh equivalent of thermo energy. Think about it

  3.  @MarcoNierop  I know it works in low temperature but because it has to work so hard for such a long duration if you live in Canada or Scandinavia I question its long term reliability. How long will the compressor last? I live in Canada and I had an egolf 4 years ago with heat pump. It worked so hard it sounded like a helicopter taking off in the morning. After a few months the noise got so bad I took to dealership they said the compressor fan is off balance. Think about it is a high speed fan that can be knocked off balance if you do a lot of hard driving especially in bad weather and road conditions. Heat pump sounds good in theory but will it hold up in real life and for how long? We will see.
