  1. Toyota clearly has changed. They are just leaning on their historical reputation to take advantage of consumers. The myth of Toyota reliability and quality is further perpetuated by people who buy Toyota also tend to WANT their cars last longer, thus take better care of their cars and using them more carefully, thus perpetuating the myth.
