@FrankGallagherr also the flush door handles freeze in winter. They make little difference to range as I drive mostly in local traffic.. truly a useless gimmick.

@MultiSilversalmon I'll never go back to an ICE car either. you failed to read my comment, please go back to elementary school and get your reading comprehension checked. I like EVs without too many electronic and software. There are gas cars with autonomous driving features too, would I want them? No either.

@BlindedByLogic not really . Elon support for Trump for free speech, not having anything to do with EV policies

@atw9913 I also wish Tesla made flush door handlers optimal for us Canadians who don't want to deal with frozen door handles on frequent basis in the winter

@garrymajor7528 good idea

@KP-xi4bj funny favbois always turn this into about Tesla not facing the facts

@KP-xi4bj I don't hate Tesla in particular. Just not a fan of flush door handles, whether it's on a Tesla or range Rover, doesn't matter I hate them equally. You are way too sensitive. No one is allowed to criticize anything about Tesla. Teslas is perfect and flawless? . I did own a Tesla for 3 years and didn't like flush door handles.
1
@KP-xi4bj in freezing rain, with regular door handles you can just yank it if you are in a hurry. You can't do it with flush door handles.
1
@KP-xi4bj Yes I was. I know of other Tesla owners complain about the same. Not just Tesla, VW ID4, Ioniq 5, any cars with flush door handles are less robust in freezing rain than traditional door handles.
1
@KP-xi4bj There is nothing wrong liking flush door handles either. if you proriotize efficiency / asthetics over robustness. Each to his own. I'm just suggesting more choices for people with different preferences, for robustness and convinience of use.
1
@KP-xi4bj no more than half the cars on road are Toyota. Doesn't mean they are the best.
1
@KP-xi4bj I'm not denying Tesla are good cars but the flush door handles are deal breaker for me. Others might not care or even like it. Clearly if you park in a garage or live in a warm area it doesn't matter at all. I'd much rather trade 1% improvement in aerodynamic for convenience and robustness.

Some people will never want a computer on wheels whether it's EV or ICE cars. I'm all for EVs, but hate computer on wheels software driven mumbo jumbo.
1
@jsanders100 why is that? Cultural or is there actually a technical reason most EVs are computer on wheels..I think it's most cultural perception
1
@TonyBasuro that's all fine. I just don't like a big stuck touch screen in the middle for controlling everthing, and all cars linked to central overlord HQ, only one bad hack away from sending malware via over the air software update to everyone.
1
@levenkay4468 I'm not interested in ICE cars. I prefer EVs, but not ones resemble a smart phone or ipad on wheels. I prefer tradiional physical controls and less remotely controolled by centralized overlord servers.
1
@TonyBasuro Yes, custom conversion EVs without fragile digital controls are ideal, but very costly. If a company came along and made "analog" EVs I think it will do very well. You can definitely make EMP resistant EVs with only analog control circuits. They might not be as efficient, but it'll be more robust and reliable.
