  1. History often rhymes. During WW2, US cut off oil supply to Japan, and forced Japan to launch attack on Pearl Harbor. Today, it's the same thing, replace Japan with China, oil with chips. And Pearl Harbor with Taiwan.

  2. Everything run on semiconductor also makes them less reliable. I'd like to see devices and appliances made for more reliability and longevity, rather than bells and whistles of non-essential gadgetry.
