I don't get why people lump the ev and self driving cars together. They are completely orthogonal things. You can have an EV without any of the high tech features and a gasoline cars loaded with all the tech and self driving. Completely independent concepts.

@automan224 exactly my point. Everyone is trying to copy Tesla blindly from stuck on infotainment screen to flush door handles, glass roof , autopilot. None of which have anything to do with electric drive train or environmental improvement. I'd like to see an auto maker create an economical EV without any of these frills that average folks can afford and get used to

@ThePceee exactly how much extra marginal range does flush door handles give over the traditional handles? It might work great in warm climate but often frozen shut in Canada especially in urgent situations.

If you are going to take cross country trip on an EV, Tesla might be your best option. All other EVs lack charging infrastructure compared to Tesla supercharger network.

@drippgxd I've read flush door handles only improve range by 1% . If that's important to you and sacrifice reliability in cold weather, then you should get it

@rosen9425 Tesla FSD has hit a brick wall at this point. Without completely changing the approach from deep learning model to AGI, it will never achieve full autonomy.
