As for values of Chinese people savings going down, if it comes down to it, government can just give stimulus handouts if economy gets too bad. In the US, shortage of labor, goods, and irresponsible government spending and money printing leading to inflation that is much harder to control. Sure the US citizens have more wealth on paper because of their real estate and stock portoflio are high. It can change any moment. What can't change quickly enough for the US is self-sufficiency in productions and reliance on imports of foreign goods.

  22. This guy is a clown. Plenty of chips are designed by the Chinese. They are moving up the value chain quickly and in some areas already surpassing America. Best EVs are all DESIGNED in China, including the latest refresh of Tesla model 3 Highland. Even those chips designed in America are NOT done by "Americans" if you go to those companies and see for yourself, 90% of chip design engineers are either Chinese or Indian, immigrants from your so called low skilled countries. Enough American elitism . Most of Americans want lazy cushy unionized factory jobs.

Zero-C19 policy was abruptly ended because he had to cave into the advice of other powerful players in CCP. If he goes, there will just be a peaceful transition of power to the next guy.

  32. Why does Europe want Ukraine so badly? It's been historically closer to Russia. The way EU and US is supporting Ukraine militarily seems like foreign interference of internal affairs of Russia. Ukraine is like Russia's cousin. France and Germany are like unrelated neighbours. When you see two cousins having a fight (family matter), the powerful neighbours (EU) gets in and take sides. That's what it looks like.

  38. This puts Elon at a very tricky spot. He is trying to win over both China and Trump, who are engaged in a tariff war. I suspect this will force China to concede to some of the US demand, in order to allow some of their EV battery components to be used in Tesla and other EV cars sold in the US. I still believe Trump is using Tariffs as a negotiation tactic rather than set in stone. the US can never compete with China in manufacturing , especially in EV and battery, solar etc, if the US has any hope of meeting Paris agreement cost effectively, they will need help from China. Even if it's not Trump's agenda, large states like California will still go ahead with green agenda with or without federal approval. They will find a way to import Chinese batteries and solar panels without tariffs.

With the way global economy is decoupling from China, rhese new coal plants may not even be operational most of time as factories don't have demands to export all these goods.
