All of this sounds like a bad deal to me. You felt it necessary to strategically hide a difficult life circumstance from her, acknowledged to yourself that the news might compel her to leave you (& it might have in fact done so, had you shared the truth with her promptly) - & yet you turn around in the next comment & talk about this vapid cliche of "she gives me peace / find a woman who is your peace" - (this is just the male version of tik Tok cringe. Which is even sadder, in a way.) There's a contradiction in there & you are backwards rationalizing that you made a wise choice, when in my view the only wise choice there was a macchiavellian calculation you made - the same calculation that Mystery or Owen Cook would've advised men to do 15-20 years ago. There might be some genuine impetus inside of me that is willing to "be the rock" for a humble woman from some poor area in the 3rd world, who grew up with genuine hardship. But I am resolutely against being that for any spoiled American woman, raised with every advantage / privilege, to the point where now Schrodinger's feminism is the standard. I just viscerally recoil from a 1-way "being the rock" for such a creature - while she gets to relax into a sense of security on my watch - yet concurrently reserves her "right" to stick around only so long as she gets to take more value & give less value - to net-gain from the relational transaction OR ELSE. No. Absolutely not. Will not serve.

@Annemarie_case143 your take is just completely wrong. When an unattractive woman pursues a man, it's considered rude if he rejects her and even the gentlest way. Everyone, and particularly women, will act like that man should accept her advances, just because she made them, in spite of the SMV Gap - like he owes that unattractive woman not only courtesy, but reciprocation. And on the other hand, when a woman rejects a man's advances - she can be as cruel and heartless as she wants, and nobody will fault her whatsoever. She's definitely not expected to accept his advances, but even beyond that - Basic courtesy in her rejecting him is not even expected, and not seen as something that she owes him (just treating him like a human being). It's just diametrically opposite of what you claim.

The entire point of Orion's video is that women are Faithless - that Women continue to demand that they take more than they give, or they'll bail. The jig is up.

My lifelong experience: women label a behavior "emotional abuse" when done to them..When they do the exact same behavior "I was testing him".

@roses6564 I've literally had an ex tell me "I was testing you" & women say things ALL the time of an equivalent nature (when justifying said behavior): I was feeling insecure, I felt unsure of where it was going, I was trying to see how much he cared, I didn't feel seen, & on & on....

Only men are held accountable for their vows in the modern Christian church. Women know this, which explains why women become "Christian". The modern church will ultimately buy any justification a woman concocts for breaking her vows. Thus, she has extra layers of security via the "Christian marriage" facade. Also, the modern Christian Church is full of single moms who proactively divorced - and the church leadership always supports them remarrying (anti Biblical of course) & even pressures the single men in their congregation to wife them up. Dalrock wrote thousands of pages about this on his blog from 2010-2020, it's still up for viewing.

@TigerBelleWatkinsProductions fair enough, the context is still "women should support less, men should support more". How else can one interpret that? Orion's ongoing point is that women's love is consumptive, women date for gain, women would rather sit at the finish line & pick a winner rather than build with someone. That's a bad deal for us, obviously.

I have seen that in modern hetero relationships with any couple under the age of 50 - the one and only time there is equal contribution of value is when the man wants kids and the woman is on the fence about kids but has them anyway. Then as you say that is a massive life contribution on her part. Then that couple can stay in a workable, if boring and passionless, relationship by both being on "team our kids" which galvanizes their interests sufficiently enough to make it work.

@user-nz6tq3vc5u let me make this straight as an arrow for you: in an age of 1) Schrodinger's feminism (I'm a strong and brave woman when I get my way, but I'm a victim if I don't get my way) & 2) a hookup culture that makes it incredibly easy for a woman to sleep with a man out of her League - women will settle for a stable boring relationship with a less attractive guy, after sleeping with much more attractive guys who would not commit to her. Then with the modern cultural feminism - they assume a position of power control over the less attractive, less powerful man. If that man gets more powerful, then the one and only thing they "settled for" (a partner they can control, the feminist philosophy to backstop it) gets thrown out the window. In any normal society with normal gender relations, this would not be possible. What's a testament to how screwed up everything is that, yes - both of those seemingly opposite scenarios do in fact coexist / occur.

@dits2007 there was no reference to "many" or "few", or any quantity, in the quote above. This isn't a "both sides" situation. Divorce & alimony stats alone are proof of that.

@shaymalchione809 There are way, WAY more decent men than women in the USA in 2024. Like by a factor of 10 to 1 or greater. Magnitudes of women today come right out in the open with their social media pages & essentially tell the world "I'm a complete trainwreck / dumpster fire".
