I wonder how long it took before the interviewer finally realised there was nothing faintly wrong with the patient, but that any problems lay in society's misconceptions of 'reality' and 'normalcy' and how they are understood? Let's remember that the CIA, less than a decade earlier, had deliberately pumped LSD gas into NY's metro system without permission or notification, in an unofficial experiment... ...And folk thought this lad was crazy?
