  1. I hope everyone will keep their nerve and withhold/ cancel their direct debit payments today. Remember...we aren't refusing to pay, we're just refusing to be robbed blind by extortionists! They have a month to negotiate. The money you would have paid, if you hadn't stood up to them, will sit there, safe, protecting you from any threats they make, any scare tactics of dire consequences they'll employ to threaten and bully you with. Plus it will cost them, for a change, employing staff to chase up customers, in an attempt to bully them into paying the outrageous increases. You are in the hardship bracket, due to rising fuel costs, so they cannot add interest onto the bill and don't let them tell you otherwise. "You may face..." or "you could face" type of threats aren't worth a penny, carry absolutely no legal weight, whatsover, and are designed solely as a psychological weapon against you. We didn't chose the battle, they did, assuming we'd just roll over without a fight. All we're doing is choosing where to stand and fight, using the same weapon they have...money. We can't strike them in the heart, because they've shown us they don't have one, so our only option is to strike their wallet, where they're vulnerable. If we don't, they will keep coming back, again and again, taking more each time. Stay strong and we'll win.
