  1. Spot on. They're caricatures of what they think is perfect. My stepfather was one and so was my last partner, who never misses an opportunity to tell me dumping her was the biggest mistake of my life, although we get along fine, apart from that one jibe. I've healed sufficiently that I can now laugh in her face. Why, against all reason and our own personal experience, did we think our love would change them for the better? If push came to shove I'd rather spend the rest of my life on my own than get back with her. I take solace in the fact she hasn't found a suitable victim in the four years we've been broke up. 😂😂😂

  3.  @TheLace  Nah, I'm doing fine, thanks, Thomas. They were the only two in my life that made me question my self worth, but I'm way past that now. One of the most difficult tasks was to repair the relationships I had, before my ex began to isolate me from them. I've been successful with most. Those I haven't, well, there's only so many times you can apologise, before questioning their motives! Your referral will, hopefully, be a lifeline for others

  4. No, I wash the area, if possible, in cold water. Failing that I use a cold, damp compress. Works every time for me.

  5. As a sufferer for a couple of decades, the course of three different antibiotics for ten days gave me an utterly new lease of life. Nowadays I can eat hot food, greasy food, spicy food, get stressed, take booze and I'm fine, whereas before these contributing factors only worsened my condition. I take my hat off to this doctor for changing my life for the better. The source of the bacteria? People not washing their hands, after using the toiiet. It's that simple It doesn't have to originate with you. Others, preparing food or drink, even passing you a glass, plate, cutllery, etc, can be the start of the nightmare. I've advised many folk, since being cured about three decades ago, to consider the antibiotic treatment, before giving any serious thought to surgery, which still appears to be a standard option for many. If you aren't one of the 1% suffering from excessive hydrochloric acid why put yourself through decades of misery? Hope my own experience helps others in the same situation I was back then.

  15. You can teach it a limited amount of words, phrases and maybe responses that will sound like a conversation, in any language, but not all parrots want to 'talk'. This is where the expression 'repeating, parrot fashion' comes from, meaning no real thought is going on, just a word or phrase repeated with little understanding of it's meaning.

  33. Blame big Pharma for the criminalisation of hemp, as it was called, back in the day, prescribed by qualified physicians to treat over 100 different ailments. Big Pharma lobbied government, who made the substance illegal, so they could profit from the gap in the market, pure and simple. They tried the same with CBD and THC oils, in recent years, but this time around the tide was against them. Footnote: No, I don't partake of the herb myself, but have advocated for it to be at least decriminalised, if not fully legalised over the last few decades. I'd sooner see youngsters, males in particular, stoned than drunk, because they aren't as prone to acts of violence that ruin their lives, as well as that of their victims and both sets of families!
