Having given so much of the public's money to his pals in the Banks and Big Business, under the guise of a bailout, it seems the US was strapped for cash. China was offered the repayment in gold bullion at the London exchange. As is their right, they requested four ingots, selected at random, be assayed. The 'bullion' turned out to be gold plated tungsten. The anti Chinese propaganda never came as a surprise. It makes it easier to refuse to pay back a loan for some people. My guess is China will write the debt off, rather than be ripped off by Trump, who is famous for welching on debts.
