  1. TOPIX from the TROPIX As I heard it, the US borrowed very heavily from China to get themselves out of the 2008 recession to the tune of several $billions The repayment was to be made by the end of 2019. The US offered gold bullion and China agreed, so both parties met at the London Exchange. The Chinese delegation wisely requested several of the 400 troy ounce bars be drawn at random, then assayed and they were, upon which it was discovered they were gold plated only. It seems the US had commissioned a great many bars, 400+ thousand of them phony and destined for Fort Knox, for some reason, (?) but they had somehow 'accidently gotten mixed up' with the consignment destined for the repayment to China. And the moon is made of cheese. 😂 By all accounts the Chinese delegation laughed in the faces of the US delegation, turned and walked away. The debt was written off, it seems. Oddly, one of the phoney ingots turned up in Germany, early in 2020. It made me wonder where the cash or gold went, because the US public were not the beneficiaries. I suspect MSN didn't cover the story for fear of revealing the US govt had tried to welch on the deal, which would have entailed them having to do some explaining of where the windfall, kindly provided by China, had gone. I can't say I was the least surprised, considering the individual running the US at the time had previously been ordered by a court to pay a couple of $million to the charitable fund he had set up, never donated a dime towards, himself, yet he and his family had used the donations of others for their own personal financial gain. It was a VET charity, in fact, if I recall correctly. It was actually on YouTube the story was set out, but in comments on a post. I screenshot it and have it on a memory card somewhere.
