@dunc mcinnes
Having studied the Act of Union 1707, I disagree.
It's just that Wastemonster decided to breach the contract and continue to breach it.
On those grounds alone, referring to articles 18 and 19, in particular, we should have revoked it long, long ago.
Those are the terms on which the snp could so easily have revoked it, six decades ago, which begs the question: why didn't they and why have they still not revoked it, after all, it is a straightforward fiscal and political treaty, nothing more?!

@Monty Cantsin
Robert is correct.
The snp are in bed with Wastemonster, hence the charade of chasing down the English legal route in a doomed attempt to attain a referendum.
There are easier methods, but they know, once the union has been revoked, the political landscape will change not just in Scotland, or even these Isles, but across the entire globe.
An independent organisation, here in Scotland, intends hauling the Wastemonster govt in front of the ICJ, later this year on charges of fraud, something the snp should have done decades ago!
This same organisation has published the Scottish Constitution, in both old Scots and modern English, on their website, again something the snp should have done decades ago, but have repeatedly refused to do, as it would give away the game they have been playing!
This organisation has been going less than a year, yet has done more for Scotland to further revoking the union than the snp has done in six decades.
The organisation is called SALVO and their website is salvo.scot

@Sam Duricic
Sadly both tories and Labour have abandoned we Scots, but not our wealth for decade, after decade, after decade.
Similarly with the North of England and Wales, who, in general, like yourself, understand our need to revoke the union lies at the hands of the politicians, who seem hell bent on destroying everything they touch with their greedy, corrupt mitts.
We've witnessed the exponentially rapid slide towards the abyss and have no wish to be dragged over the edge, however, that doesn't stop us from feeling sympathy for those we leave behind.
We aren't, in general, anti English, we're anti Wastemonster and, in particular, anti tory.

The thing I don't get, Robert, is that you think Cameron suffers from relentless stupidity.
The fact of the matter is he WAS and will always be, like B(l)oJo(b) a master manipulator.
The gullible public were whipped into a jingoistic, xenophobic, racist frenzy...well, the stupid ones, anyway.
Yet you imagine, like so many, it was an error on his part.
Look at the laws being implemented without the protection of the EU and those in the pipeline.
Look at the vast shift in wealth over the last fifteen or so years, particularly recently.
Look at how they blame everything on the EU and still get away with it.
Bottom line?
The English electorate are Commoners.
Parliament is Sovereign, therefore is not really answerable to the people...in other words the Brexit vote was allowed, because the outcome was guaranteed, regardless of Cameron's feigned surprise.
Just look at the business venture with his cousins, the Marquis and George Osborne, plus their other relative, Regina II and the non disclosure contracts with those whom their company had contracts with.
Hardly the handiwork of a hapless fool.
Sorry, but, much as I agree with the rest of your comment, on Cameron I entirely disagree.

@jim765
Wake up, Jim!
The snp have been returned to power by the majority of Scottish voters for the last thirteen years!
They managed that because the majority of the voters wanted them to revoke the union.
The unionists have consistently lost over those thirteen years, because they are the minority!
That's how a democracy works.
The pro indy movement didn't try claiming the non voters supported them, yet you dishonestly claim they support you. πππ
Have you any idea how childish and immoral that makes you look?
Yes, the snp support has dwindled, there's no doubt about it, including my vote, however, like me, they didn't walk away and give up the cause.
We simply transfered our votes to other indy parties.
You never even gave any serious consideration to that possibility, did you.
The next election will be tactical.
The pro indies intend banding together.
All votes count.
Non votes don't, so try to keep that in mind.
The unionist parties will be given a severe doin'.
Face it, Jim, the union is dead.
You're like the old, drunken fart, in every pub, banging on about 'the good old days' dreaming of glory that's long gone, kidding yourself it's about to make a miraculous entry, while everyone around laughs and shakes their heads.
It's over, Jim, forget about what ifs and maybes, because the world has moved on.

It's a long way off.
Sturgeon should have resigned immediately and recalled the London MPs home, then instructed the party not to elect a new leader.
Thirty days later a GE would have had to be called and the defacto job would have been done and dusted by now.
Problem is the snp are collaborating with Wastemonster, hence the farce, wasting time and money, of jumping through English legal hoops, knowing, as we all did, that it would take us down a cul de sac.
Alternatively, at any point over the last several decades, they could have recalled the London MPs and sent a solicitor's letter to Wastemonster, advising them we were revoking the union, as they have and continue to breach articles 18 and 19 of the Act of Union 1707.
The upcoming legal case, later this year, when SALVO drag Wastemonster through the ICJ on charges of fraud should prove very interesting.
