@ethxo6734 The problem is that it has a very scientific-sounding name which may have been a good idea at one time, but happens to be false. It was assumed that this prolonged debility which sometimes follows an infection was due to continuing "inflammation" somewhere, but it has proved impossible to track it down. So what's going on? The same is true of a lot of illnesses, but sceptics have only noticed ME.

Myalgic = muscle pain. Encephalomyelitis = inflammation of the brain and spinal cord: however there is no evidence for this, which is why it is normally abbreviated to M.E.
