  1. These "Rolls-Royces" are made for the man who needs a gold-plated toilet. But they aren't made by the famous engineering firm founded in 1904. That collapsed in 1971, was nationalised and then split up: the car company was bought by Volkswagen and is now known as Bentley, while the aero firm sold the NAME and badges to BMW, who put them on their top end products to avoid disgracing the name of BMW.
